Nutcracker at Evergreen City Ballet
I had the pleasure of being invited to photograph a working rehearsal of Nutcracker for the Evergreen City Ballet in Renton. Friends and family were invited to attend the working rehearsal, a new idea for their program brought to them by their new Executive Director, Julie Tobiason. It was wonderful to see families as friends gathered to watch their children as Artistic Director, Gillmer Duran, worked them through the performance rehearsal. Family and friends can see the effort that brings such delight to the performers and the audience and the commitment of everyone to…Read More
Gala Auction St. Alphonsus
GlimmerGlass Photography was invited back to capture the St. Alphonsus Parish School’s Annual Gala Auction — and this year, in addition to our photo-booth setup, we also did prints ON SITE! It was AWESOME! GEEK NOTE: I used Iford Premier paper for the prints and I was so impressed with the quality. It wasn’t just my camera clicking, everything about this particular Gala evening definitely “CLICKED!” The Auction is usually called, “FUND A DREAM” but this year they did a little play on that calling it, “Fund-A-Green” because the goal is to…Read More

Fog and Tulle
Inspired by some of the photography groups I see on Facebook, I thought I’d plow right into the fog and tulle technique and see where it goes. Being that it’s halloween time, dry ice is ubiquitous this time of year at many of the local grocery markets. I’ve never worked with dry ice before and it’s surprising to meet so many people who’ve never actually seen it up close in action before. To prepare a little, I went to the Daily Chang blog to see some of his ideas and also looked…Read More

Elisabeth Rocks the Glam
Elisabeth came by and we had a sensational glam session, she totally rocked it. Slender, sassy and long legs – not a model but she could be if she wanted. I needed to stand on a box most of the time to stay at eye level with her. We rounded out the session with some “pinterest” shot ideas, we incorporated lots of poses for the shoot and had so much fun. Her glasses she couldn’t wear, the lenses were throwing off some harsh green glow. Without the glasses she resembles, at least…Read More

Valentine be Mine
For our 30 year wedding anniversary, Mike and I took a couple days and went down to the Heceta Head Lighthouse. Heceta Head is located south of Yachats and north of Florence, off the beautiful 101 on the Oregon Coast. There’s a bed and breakfast there at the old Light Keepers house. The idea of staying at a lighthouse property just gave me a rush of excitement every time I imagined the trip. But wow, it was so much more than I imagined. I’d never been to a bed and breakfast before.…Read More
