Gala Auction St. Alphonsus
GlimmerGlass Photography was invited back to capture the St. Alphonsus Parish School’s Annual Gala Auction — and this year, in addition to our photo-booth setup, we also did prints ON SITE! It was AWESOME!
GEEK NOTE: I used Iford Premier paper for the prints and I was so impressed with the quality.
It wasn’t just my camera clicking, everything about this particular Gala evening definitely “CLICKED!” The Auction is usually called, “FUND A DREAM” but this year they did a little play on that calling it, “Fund-A-Green” because the goal is to put a nice artificial grass in the playground area for the children. When I scooted out about 9:30pm they had raised over $39,000 – “WOW”
The first Gala event that GlimmerGlass had the opportunity to shoot for them was a few years ago, it was the 25 year anniversary gala and it was kind of an “Oscar” night theme. The next one we did was last year, that theme was Paris (or maybe France in general). This year the theme was “Around the World.”
The guests seemed to have more fun than ever as I recall from auctions past, I couldn’t tell you why that would be. Maybe it was the Moscow Mules at the onset. The Silent Auction that starts the evening was setup differently, too, it seemed easier to navigate the tables and better organized in there. But now that I think about it, the Moscow Mules did seem to set the mood, those looked like they were a big hit.
