St Al Service Day

It was a beautiful, sunny day here in our corner of the earth. Seattle is really a pretty place when the gloomy clouds scatter away and you can actually see it. It’s like getting over a cold, you really appreciate feeling better so much more.

I ventured over to St. Alphonsus Parish School to do some photography for them, and even more good news for our fair city, it also happened to be a service day for the students.  Some classes were creating Valentine cards, one room of 5th grade girls were creating knitted items, the boys were making sandwiches for the St. Martin De Porres Shelter and another group of girls were in the kitchen making wonderful baked goods.

And, to top it all off, Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow and therefore – voila! AN EARLY SPRING!  Phil has only prognosticated this 18 times in the past 120 years.  I do not know how often this buck toothed ball of fur has gotten his predictions right, but we’ll just go with it because what is an early spring anyway? Rain? Allergies? If we can have more of today, I’ll take it.
